We are asking for prayers for our little Zeke!
Zeke will be having surgery as early as now (this week) to repair his cleft palate. We received a call from our social worker end of last week about this...The CCCWA (Chinese Center for Children's Welfare and Adoption) called our agency asking for our permission to do the surgery as soon as possible. We took their contacting us as a blessing! It felt like they recognized us as Zeke's "to-be" parents! They could have just proceeded without our consent. We were able to consult with our international adoption clinic doctor and also were able to consult with the head of the cleft team at Seattle Children's. We felt so blessed to get their expert opinions/recommendations. This was an extremely tough decision to make...we had continued to think that it was best to get him home first before any more surgery. But, this surgery seemed needed and there was some really encouraging communication that helped us come to the decision to say yes to the surgery. We do not know exactly when the surgery will take place. We are hoping and praying to be able to get updates, but they are not a guarantee.
Please pray for Zeke as he goes through another surgery/recovery...for safety, knowledge for doctors, for wonderful caretakers/nannies and a quick and great recovery. Our hearts break knowing we can not be there for him.
We ask that you keep praying as we wait for our LOA (letter of acceptance) and next steps before getting to go to China and bring Zeke home. We were struggling with the wait already, but knowing surgery is taking place has made it all the more tough. We are so grateful for a loving God who knows Zeke and is watching over him.
We keep praying for speedy process...to be able to get to our little guy as soon as we can!
We love, even more, the meaning of Zeke's name! "God will strengthen"
Thank you for praying!
Love, Justin and Molly
