The waiting....for travel approval!

Hi Everyone!
It has, once again, been a while since I have blogged about our status in the adoption process! I guess that means time is flying by, which is wonderful! :)
Update on our little Zeke:
We recently received an update that our little guy has not had surgery, and there is no date scheduled for surgery. Thank you to all those praying for little Zeke...they could still do surgery, it is not for us to decide...so we're trying to place it in God's hands and trust that he is ok! We really appreciate your prayers! If Zeke does not have surgery in China, he most likely will, soon after arriving home to WA. Timing is an estimate, but his cleft palate repair surgery would most likely happen about one month-6weeks once Zeke comes home. God has given us much peace about this...not to say we don't think about it or worry a bit too;) We have been consulting with doctors at the International Adoption Clinic here in Seattle, WA. We will be bringing Zeke in to them very soon after getting home from China and will then have more answers about what little Zeke is dealing with and what/when we will be dealing with surgeries and such. According to the update we received, Zeke is at about 19.5 lbs. and is 2.3ft tall! :) He sounds like he is sleeping well, eating well, and movin'! :) Good news of our little peanut :)
With our last update came some photos of our little guy!
Goodness he is a cutie! :) It is so bittersweet to see the steps he appears to be taking in walking. So wonderful that developmentally he is doing well! But, oh so tough to know we are missing it! Thankful for all the pictures we have been blessed to get!
The adoption process is moving along! Last week our immigration paperwork here in the U.S. was moved from the National Benefits Center to the National Visa Center, was approved, and we cabled our approval to the consulate in Guangzhou, China! We also got our Chinese visas added to our passports! All in one week...yay! At this point, we are waiting for a specific document from the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou, to send everything on to the CCCWA in China. At that point we wait for them to give us our TRAVEL APPROVAL!!! We were told an estimate time for this is about 5-7 weeks (give or take) and once we have travel approval, we will most likely travel to China within two weeks from that. It's coming!!!!!!
We are fully prepping for travel. We are mid-way through a travel video packed full of information for us on travel and what that looks like...LOTS of info ;) There is much to prepare! This process has been full of busy days of paperwork and document gathering...lots of hurry up and wait and when there is something new we have to accomplish, it can feel like a fast race to gather everything up, sign, send and hurry up and wait again...it's fun to be at a place where we can start to baby-proof our home and create a home for Zeke to join us in!
Justin and I are definitely in "nesting" mode! We keep saying...ok...what do we need to do now!!!?
Yesterday I had quite a moment about socks for Zeke. (haha...yes you can laugh) We only have 4 pairs of socks for him so far! ;) (don't worry...we will be getting more;) Just so exciting to be in this phase. Not only are we being blessed beyond our comprehension to be adopting...but we are becoming first time parents! WOW! That is a lot of responsibility to think about!
For anyone that knows me even a little...you know how much I like to be prepared ;)
So you can understand the sock thing now ;) We must get more socks! :)
Oh dear...anyhoo back to nesting! It has been such a joy to put little guy clothes, jammies, socks, etc. into drawers. That made it feels so real! We got to finally finish putting Zeke's room together!
SO FUN!!!! Here is a peek at the room!

The words on the dresser drawers are the first five words in the aviation alphabet :)

We are so, very excited....it really is surreal. It is absolutely amazing that we started this adoption process with an orientation phone call with Lifeline Children's Services on Dec. 10th of last year...it hasn't even been a year yet! That feels like a miracle...we are so very thankful for God's leading in this process! Our hearts feel for families that are still waiting for their little one...it is such a HARD time. We are praying for all those families waiting, but also for all the kiddos waiting for forever families. EVERY child deserves to be in a loving home.
Being parents is something we have wanted for years....it is incredible to see the journey we have been on, the hardships that we have gone through, and God's amazing faithfulness through it all...we truly feel the joy that is ahead! We are in for quite the change in life...it will come with challenging days, but we go ahead with anticipation and thankfulness for this little peanut! Thank you for following us on this journey! We appreciate and feel your prayers!
