ONE YEAR!

Wow! We cannot believe it has been a year...and yet, what a full year it has been!
We also cannot believe the difference one year makes!
December 2014 / December 2015

This feels like a HUGE milestone :)
First of all...Zeke is doing so well! We are AMAZED how far he has come in a year...physically and emotionally! So very thankful for the victories that happened for him.
We really took seriously, his needs both physically and emotionally...really listened and learned from our adoption agency on the best ways to meet Zeke's needs...and focused solely on bonding as a family and helping each other. What a blessing it has been. We see such a difference and love seeing Zeke grow and blossom more and more with every day.
We are so thankful that WE get to be the ones: to be Mama and Dada to our Zeke.

We have learned so much and our hearts have grown so deep for orphans and children in need of the kind of love that builds a foundation of security for them in a time frame they need. They are in need of safety, security, love, patience, and understanding as they slowly let down their walls/guard and start to build trust in you - the "new person" in their life. We have seen how Zeke has really bonded to us as parents. We started out as care-takers to him...people just meeting his needs. And, over time, we have become his love. Daily, he talks about the love Dada, Mama, and Zeke have. It is precious and something we prayed for! Our hearts are forever changed and so, so full. LOVE is incredible.
So thankful God demonstrates this love for us...and because of that...we are able to live that out.

We took some time this weekend to think back on our journey in China to Zeke.
Going through that journey in the moment felt like a blur, so it was so wonderful to relive those moments from in China.
The video is long...but shows the journey.
