We were back at CHOP again this morning for Isla to see her pulmonary doctor, Dr. Mayer. Much of the appointment was talking through how Isla is doing and what we may face in the future. All appeared to look good in her x-rays. Her lungs seem to be doing well and we have not been seeing a decline, which is incredible!
Dr. Mayer talked about the need of not just a talented surgeon for Isla but one that is creative - to think outside the box. We are so thankful we had that in Dr. Campbell 💙 and now, we see that in Dr. Anari (Dr. Anari trained under Dr. Campbell).
So grateful for all her doctors and medical team at CHOP!
After Isla's appointment, we were able to see some sweet friends from PA that were at CHOP for appointments as well! So great to see you, friends!
It feels incredibly special to have connected with people through adoption and CHOP that have grown into sweet friendships. Such a blessing! It means so much to be able to empathize with one another and support each other.
Tomorrow we are up before dawn to head to CHOP for check in for Isla's surgery. She is "first case", so we will be arriving to CHOP at 5:30am.
Please be praying for Isla and the whole medical team.
We pray for her safety through surgery and for all to go well.
We really appreciate all the encouragement and prayers!
