And so it begins!

Hello family and friends!
We are so excited to share with you,
that we have started our adoption journey!

It has been a journey to get to this point,
and we are thrilled to start this new chapter in our lives!

Here is a little back story to how we got here...
We both, prior to marriage, had loved adoption. We had discussed that this was something we wanted to do for our family. We did not know exactly what that looked like, but always had it on our minds and hearts, even before our "I do's". As time went on, and many prayers were prayed, we knew adoption would be how we would start our family, even before knowing that we biologically could not have children. This did become a physical reality this year with Molly needing a surgery that would prevent us from biologically having children. God has been so good through our years together. We are grateful for the hope, life, and gift that adoption is. We feel blessed that over the last 6 years, God grew in us this desire for adoption, and more specifically, a desire to adopt a precious little one from China.
This summer we started communicating with an adoption agency about the adoption program to China. We began filling out forms and researching more. This fall, we fully applied for the program through our agency; starting our process to adopt from China. There are many requirements involved in acceptance. We hit what felt like a big road block in starting the process, due to those requirements, but God worked a miracle, and we are now on our way! We are so grateful!

We were officially accepted into the program on Nov. 5th, 2013.

We have been up to our eye balls in paperwork and details...but it is filled with excitement and anticipation about what is ahead!
Once we had all of our policies filled out and signed, we had our first orientation meeting, which took place on Dec. 10th, 2013. We are thrilled to say we are now in our home study process! :)
We know it is just the beginning...we do not know what all lies ahead, but have seen God's faithfulness bringing us to this point, and know He will see us through; all the way to our little love!
We would love your prayers as we go through this journey! We will update this blog with our steps in the process, and more details about our adoption as well. Keep posted! ;)

On our way to being daddy and mommy,
