Hand-off

Justin and Molly are in Guangzhou, and are in good hands with the agency guide.  I'm leaving today via Hong Kong, but they are staying with Zeke for three more days.  Unlike in Chongqing where we were the only ones, there are a number of other adoptive families in Guangzhou (and at the same hotel).  They had an instant connection with Molly & Justin, and it was cool to see them trading war stories.

Every day has been a feast for the senses (sometimes great--sometimes not-so-great).  I wish I could capture the smells!  Anyway, here's a quick re-cap of what's happened in the last couple days:

On Friday afternoon/evening we traveled from Chongqing to Guangzhou on Sichuan Airlines.  It was Zeke's first plane ride, so we were nervous.  It didn't help that the plane was delayed a few hours.  Morale was low for a while as we took turns keeping him busy and walking him around the terminals.  Fortunately he fell asleep before we got on the plane.  Molly held him for about 4 hours while we boarded, flew, landed, and got our bags in Guangzhou.  He hardly stirred even while a shouting match broke out ahead of us in line while we were waiting to board.  Looking back, it went very well.

Yesterday (Saturday), we went to get Zeke checked-out at the US consulate-appointed doctor.  Besides a little crying, it went well.  No shots required.  Tomorrow (Monday), Molly and Justin take Zeke to the US Consulate to complete his US citizenship process.  On Christmas eve, Justin and Molly fly home through Beijing.  The layover is only an hour and a half, so they're nervous about getting through customs--and of course they're also nervous about the very long flight with Zeke.   Gotta go.  Thank you for your continued prayers!
