Today marks 3 months from the day Zeke was placed in our arms...3 months a family <3
How time flies!
Zeke Shuo:
- Zeke is now 20 months old!
- 31 1/2 inches tall
- 22.6 pounds
- head cir. is 18 1/2 inches
- still wearing size 4 shoes :)
- He is still wearing 12 month old pants, and yes...they are still a big baggy! [little peanut]
- he is 12 month for tops too...but 18 month old works, just is baggy :)
- Zeke is healing well from surgery (praise the Lord!) we are just still dealing with LOTS of teething...so fun! ;)
- football, soccer ball, basketball, baseball...if it's a ball...he likes it ;)
- He still loves curious George...says "ooo, ooo, ooo, ah ah"
- LOVES choo choos...just introduced Thomas the Tank Engine last week...what a hit!
- Zeke loves food...and is very happy to have upgraded to more than just pureed foods since surgery! He eats everything we give him...what a blessing! He is still eating mostly soft foods along with his pureed foods, but added back some "puffs" which he thinks is the bee's knees
- He LOVES to learn...he really listens to us explaining things, and it usually only takes one explanation for him to talk about it over and over :)
- He is signing please, thank you, more, and the newest is help to which he tries to say the word help too...very cute!
- Books are still his "go to" entertainment/toy at any time. They have been a great way to teach him more English, by saying the words and having pictures to match with it.
- He loves music...anything and everything...loves to bop (dance) to it.
- Zeke is running around now...when we first had him he had a very wobbly walk...now he can still be a bit wobbly...but he is QUICK with his run! :)
- He loves to be involved in anything we are doing...asks in a "whoa" and honk what we are doing.
- Zeke is not afraid to get dirty outside in the rocks, grass, and mud...but inside lets us know in an instant if he gets anything on his hands :)
- Zeke has mastered saying "uh oh!"
- LOVES airplanes (makes Dada excited!) and puts his arms out and makes airplanes sounds.
- Zeke loves animals and learning the sounds they make
- He LOVES trucks, tractors, and the like...and we have come up with signs and sounds for them which he shows us at least 10 times a day ;)
- Zeke loves to try to make us laugh...same thing we do with him. So glad to have such laughter with him! <3
- In Zeke's comfort of home...he can try to rule the roost...he let's us know if he doesn't like something.
- Zeke likes to color scribbles...learning how to use his fingers and hands
- The ducks are still celebrities to Zeke and he finally is starting to throw bread to feed them instead of just eating the bread himself! :D
- Zeke likes to be a helper, whether it's laundry, cleaning, Dada fixing something, etc...Zeke wants in on it!
- Zeke loves his blankie (little washcloth) and keeps losing it in his crib, so we have added 6 more washcloths in the crib...it works! ;)
- Zeke is getting much more comfortable at home, but still pretty hesitant if we go anywhere that has people...he will hesitantly wave and smile at people, but stays close to Mama and Dada. He has some anxiety and tough times when around people, so we are taking this very slow. [We love everyone wanting to know him and see him...but we have to wait til he is ready...we appreciate the support and understanding in this] He loves to wave at people though!
- Zeke is not sleeping great at night yet, he had a couple of wonderful, sleep filled nights (which we think is partially to the help of lavender essential oils...so good!) but he tends to have much fear and anxiety at night which lends to not always getting sleep. It seems, the more we stay at home in his comfort zone, the better he sleeps at night. We really want to acknowledge what Zeke is dealing with, so again...we stick close to home often. We love to see Zeke comfortable, to feel safe enough be silly, to be loving, to not have fears...slowly we introduce him to new things.
- Zeke loves "wa wa"(water)...so we have visited the beach more than a few times. He LOVES it and loves to explore the sand and rocks for shells and drift wood. Here are some photos from our last beach outings to Carkeek Park/Beach...another "happy place" for Zeke :)
We are so incredibly thankful for the blessing of having Zeke Shuo as our son. We learn new things each day along with him. We melt at how he is loving us as his parents and getting more and more comfortable each day. It is amazing to see the growth in him. God is so very faithful...we are in awe.
We had some photos taken by my sister Becca prior to Zeke's surgery. We took them in the same spot we had taken photos when we first started the adoption process. It fills our hearts with joy to see that little red chair filled with this blessing...our son! [how blessed we are]
This kiddos brings us so much joy!
