Recovery is tough...
Although this surgery was not as invasive as Zeke's last...he is still having a tough time through it. but, I must have forgotten to post it!*
This was life back in the middle of May
Recovery is tough...
He is little...so he does not know how to process pain, which gets him very frustrated.
This part of parenting is tough...
You know your child needs this surgery for so many reasons, BUT, it is so tough to see them go through surgery, to stay in the hospital hooked up to so many things, fear builds in him and frustration builds because of it, the pain continues for days and because he is so little, you cannot explain it all to him. Our little buddy is quite the trooper...he will be crying and confused one second, and giving a brave "thumbs up" the next. Even on the toughest days...he still has moments of joy. This surgery went well. Zeke's doctor was able to get a great view of Zeke's airway and what he was facing causing breathing difficulties. His adenoids and tonsils were an issue, so we are thankful they are now removed. There were some other "concerns" that we will keep an eye on, (will need a sleep study in a couple of months, and possibly surgery depending on results of the sleep study) but for now we work on healing and seeing how he does with his breathing through that.

Zeke was really nervous prior to surgery :( He stayed REALLY close to Mama and Dada. |

Zeke LOVES music...and LOVES playing guitar with Dada Mama LOVES to listen to them play :) Was so good to get Zeke home and do something he loves to do that is normal :) |
Zeke has such a tough time processing what is going on. Again, like we've said before...he has been through so much change in such a short time. That is a lot for a 21 month old to take in.
It tugs so much on our hearts to have him go through surgeries...but also to struggle with some physical/medical needs. We pray we will make wise decisions and want to do all we can to help Zeke through it all.
Because of the tough days...we do all we can to find distractions for Zeke. :)
His favorite so far are our typical walks to the park, playing guitar with Dada, watching Dada fly his R.C. airplane, looking at all airplanes on the ground or in the air ;D, reading books, listening to music, coloring, and also some T.V. (Bob the builder "on site" building trains has become quite the hit) ;)
We appreciate all the thoughts and prayers for Zeke, Justin, and I!
Here are some photos of our springtime days
