Seeing some light at the end of the {home study} tunnel!

This past month has flown by! As much as the paperwork process can feel like it goes on for days,  and days, and days...our days flew by this month! We feel very excited to be making progress in our home study!

We had completed many of the paperwork forms, reading requirements, and trainings that are a part of the process, so we were able to schedule our 1st home study visit with our social worker! I went a little crazy cleaning and organizing everything in our home..it felt so good to do spring home study cleaning! ;)

a few glimpses of our home

Our social worker, Allison was so great! The visit went really well! She walked through our home and sat with us and talked about our marriage/life, our home, and the adoption process. It was a thrill to check things off the list of to-do's! After that visit, we were able to schedule our individual interviews for the next week! These interviews were for Allison to talk to each of us individually about the autobiographies we had written about our lives and to answer any other questions we had at this point in the adoption process.
She gave us great insight into adoption through China, what we may face through our adoption, and an approximate timeline for it all (emphasis on approximate).
We are nearing the end of our home study! Still have loose ends to finish up...but awesome to see the home study finish line ahead!
Ahead of us this month, will be tying up loose ends of paperwork, an online training/workbook, one last phone interview with our social worker, and our medical appointments!
I think we are understanding more what it means to celebrate finishing the home study :) I think a gluten free cake is in order ;)

Thanks for reading our blog
and following our journey!
We appreciate the love, support, and prayers!
